I’m really happy about a recent collaboration with awesome fire-staff juggling guru, Tim Marston
. I am the newest addition to his Juggling Inferno team, and have just been commissioned to create at least 5 new pieces of choreography for them.
6th June was my first performance with the group, and it was a blast!!
“I cant give you enough words to explain how fantastic the shows were, the guests loved the walkabout meet and greets, and the finale towards the end of the night was just amazing.
We couldn’t have asked for nicer or more professional performers than yourselves.”
Event Organiser, NTSU Summer Ball, 6th June 2008.

These 3 months of training, performing and teaching in Rio de Janeiro included capoeira with Mestre Marrom, acrobatics with ‘Intrepida Trupe’, contemporary dance with the ‘Deborah Colker’ school, circus skills and fire performance with ‘Trupe Coringa’ plus a host of dance and gymnastics courses from around the city.
During this time, apart from general training, I concentrated on writing, planning and performing new solo cabaret choreography, which I premièred at a cabaret evening shortly before the end of my stay.
My time in Brazil was an intensive and exciting experience! The vibrancy and the rhythms that permeate through the entire country create a unique and animated culture of dance and movement. I drew so much inspiration from the rich dance culture and expressive use of costuming especially during carnival time! It has sparked ideas for new choreography and costumes which I will now be working on over the coming year…. until I can go back again!!

I was asked to be part of this exciting project as lead choreographer for a newly-formed Swiss fire-spinning group. After discussing themes, music and visual ideas for a 20 minute show, I was given free reign to create the piece and its soundtrack. From the 11 th to the 20 th of October I lead the group on a 7-day intensive training session with the new choreography on site in Basel , creating video documentation for the show, which the group hope to have fully rehearsed and completed for 2007.
